Privacy Statement

This privacy statement sets out how the fund uses and protects any information that you give us online, face to face and by email.

Data Protection Statement
The fund is the data controller for the purposes of the Act and is committed to ensuring that your information is secure. To prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

What we collect on the member portal
We collect any information provided by you when updating your details using this portal, including name and contact details, as well as information relating to your employment with an LGPS employer within the West Midlands.

The fund will not collect information about you that we do not need and we will ensure that the personal data we collect is updated to our systems in a timely and accurate manner.

What we do with the information we gather
We require this information to effectively exercise the statutory obligations of the Fund and also internal record keeping to provide you with regulatory information. We may use the information to improve our products and services; we may from time to time contact you for customer engagement purposes; we may contact you by e-mail, phone or mail.

The Fund may, if required, pass certain details to a third- party organisation in instances whereby they are carrying out administrative functions of the Fund, for example, the Fund's Actuary. The Fund may respond to requests for personal information from other public bodies, e.g, HM Revenues and Customs (HMRC) in connection with their statutory duties.

Finding out about the personal information we hold about you
Under the Data Protection Act 2018, the fund has a duty to protect the personal data it processes. You can find out about your rights, and get further guidance, on the Information Commissioners Office website. In line with the Data Protection Act 2018, an individual has a right to request information held about them. A request for information about an individual other than the subject of the information will be rejected except in the following circumstances:

  • parents may request information about a child under 16
  • an organisation (such as a solicitor or Independent Financial Advisor) may request information on behalf of an individual with that individual's consent. More information on this can be found on the Fund’s website here.
